Ewalt Kommer and Jeroen Kors (both 1969) focus on creating designs with added functional value, driven more by emotional experience than by technical aesthetics. After gaining professional experience in Hamburg and Leiden, they established their design studio in Schoonhoven (NL). They met during their studies in The Hague and have since created a diverse range of products, from pens to sofas and from soap dispensers to exhibition stands. Their work has been recognised with several distinctions, including the Dutch Design Award in 2003.

Onyx I

Casala Onyx I is a functional chair with a shell in beech, CPL, plastic or upholstered. Onyx I has a rod steel frame, is stable and can be stacked to 6 pieces.

Onyx II

The Casala Onyx II chair has minimalist, modern forms. The cantilever frame of Onyx II is stackable to 6 pieces and offers various possibilities for upholstery.

Onyx III

Casala Onyx III is a 4-legged chair, that is stable and can be stacked to six pieces stand alone or 12 pieces on a transport dolly.

Onyx IV

Casala Onyx IV chair has a cross-base with castors. Onyx IV chairs are functional chairs for meetings, conferences and offices.

Onyx V

The Casala Onyx V chair features a natural lacquered 4-legged beech base with a plastic shell in eight colours or a fully upholstered version.
