Casala furnished a company restaurant in Paris with tables, chairs and transport dollies. The space is used daily for lunch, but thanks to the furniture, it also offers plenty of opportunities for staff meetings and events. The customer’s main requirements were flexible furnishings, efficient transport and storage of furniture, and a look that harmonised with the architecture of the building and the green surroundings.
The company restaurant has curved walls with large windows, wooden frames, and a ceiling of light wooden beams. The space is reminiscent of a ship’s hull and is a nod to the maritime character of the company.
By combining wood-coloured table tops and black bases with white, an interior was created that perfectly matches the wooden construction, the light floor and the green surroundings.
Along the windows are round Blender tables in HPL with wood decor table tops, combined with moss green, felt Omega chairs with upholstered seats. Both the tables and chairs have black powder coated frames. In the center are counterheight Blender tables with HPL wood decor table tops and felt Omega barstools. For flexible use, there are Lacrosse folding tables with white table tops and blue felt Omega chairs, both with white frames.
From design to realisation
During the first meeting with the architect and client, the focus was on the possibilities and functional characteristics of Casala furniture. Folding tables, stackable chairs, and transport dollies that make it quick and easy to reconfigure a space. Casala visualised the possible layout with realistic renderings, giving the client an insight into the overall picture in advance. In a follow-up session, models, materials, and colours were selected to create a warm, representative look.
Sustainable design
Casala furniture is a responsible choice. The felt seat shells of Omega chairs and barstools contain up to 100% recycled PET. They are attached to the frame without glue or tape and are fully recyclable. The cores of the tabletops are made from recycled wood sourced from responsibly managed forests. The frames of the chairs, barstools and tables contain a high percentage of recycled steel; for the Blender and Lacrosse tables, this is as much as 80%. Powder coating is free of heavy metals and other toxic substances. The residue is collected and reused in the process, so there is no residual waste.
