Frank van der Winkel (Sales Director Casala): ‘We wanted to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Casala in a special way. We deliberately opted for a collaboration with Ostwald, because of his quirky, uncompromising designs. The result is a refined conference chair with a stylish and contemporary interplay of lines. « It is the perfect chair to celebrate our hundredth birthday: a beautiful final piece of a century of design history. »

How it started
Casala was founded in 1917 in Lauenau, a small town in the area of ??Hanover, Germany. Starting as a producer of wooden shoe soles, the direction then changed to producing furniture for homes. In the 1960s Casala made big steps with large-scale production of wooden school furniture. In the years that followed, the switch was made to the production of project furniture, which remains the core business of Casala to this day. Casala has been a Dutch family business since 2002. In this year a start was made with the realisation of the current Casala collection. The collection now comprises no less than 32 furniture programs that are represented worldwide in many prominent places.
